Remote weigh in procedure
Some competitions run by or in conjunction with Australia’s Strongest may allow remote weigh-ins. We strongly prefer athletes to weigh in at the designated location set by the promoter to ensure consistency and accuracy. However, we understand that in some situations, attending an in-person weigh-in isn’t possible. If you need to complete a remote weigh-in, you must first get approval from the promoter of the competition you’re entering.
To ensure fairness and accuracy, all athletes completing a remote weigh-in must follow these steps exactly if approval is granted by a promoter.
Location & Timing:
Weigh in must take place at a pre-approved location and within the designated time window.
Video Requirements:
The video must be unedited and uncut (one continuous video with no breaks or drops)
The video must be recorded in good lighting with a clear view of the scale at all times.
Scale Calibration:
Start the video by placing a calibrated plate (between 10kg and 25kg) on the scale.
Clearly show the scale reading to verify accuracy of the scale.
Remove the plate from the scale.
Athlete Weigh In:
Athlete steps onto the scale.
Show a clear view or a watch or clock displaying the time and date to verify the time of the video is within the allotted timeframe for weigh in.
Ensure the athlete’s full body and weight reading are clearly visible in the video.
If the athlete needs to weigh in fully nude, a courtesy towel may be held up by a third party, but it must not block the view of the athlete on the scales, the time or the weight reading.
Submission of Weigh in:
Send the video to the promoter immediately after weighing in via instagram, or follow their specific instructions as to where to send your submission to.
If any adjustments are needed, we will notify you as soon as possible.
It is our recommendation that the athlete wait for approval from the promoter prior to re feeding.
Failure to follow these steps may result in an invalid weigh in.
